European legislative framework for organic farming – 4th European Organic Congress
The 4th European Organic Congress invites the European organic sector to Rome to evaluate and discuss the European legislative framework for organic farming.

The congress sets out to evaluate the first year of the new organic Regulation, assessing the current situation, and providing a platform for an outlook on further elements to be added to the regulation.

With the new EU Regulations for organic food and farming now in place for more than a year and a half, the IFOAM EU Group invites the organic sector to the Italian capital to evaluate the performance of the regulatory framework – what are the bottlenecks and challenges, which areas need work now and which will need attention in the future.

Stakeholder forum 2010 – TP Organics
TP Organics will hold its annual stakeholder forum at the Committee of Regions. This year the Stakeholder forum will focus on developing the TP Organics Implementation Action Plan.

The meeting will be a key opportunity to bring together ideas and generating discussions on needed research in order to promote and strengthen organic food production in Europe. The focus of this Forum is to facilitate stakeholder input to the development of Implementation Acton Plan for Organic Food and Farming.

Mat och klimat – sommarkurs
"Redan innan du avslutat din frukost har du varit beroende av halva världen", sa Martin Luther King. Maten vi äter påverkar Människor och miljö på platser vi aldrig anar. Men det går att äta för en hållbar värld. I kursen får du tips på hur du kan handla, odla och tillaga mat som både skonar miljön och klimatet och ger dej smakligare och näringsrikare föda.

Teori varvas med skörd i trädgårdslandet och gemensam matlagning. Lärare är Johanna Björklund, medförfattare till boken "Mat och klimat". Kocken Mikael Rikand och trädgårdsmästaren Frida Mörnerud, båda från Wij Trädgårdar, bistår i de praktiska delarna.

Law for Social-Ecological Resilience
International and transdiciplinary conference

The conference will highlight the impact of law on environmental governance, ecosystem management and sustainability policies – ranging from local to global contexts. Legal structures, principles and processes, as well as core concepts of the rule of law, impinge on the capacity of societies to manage ecosystems, withstand environmental degradation as well as economic shocks, and rebuild and renew itself afterwards.

Law for Social-Ecological Resilience will assess, analyse and debate the impact of law in these respects – and thus further the understanding of the role of law and improve the prospects for environmental governance and sustainable development.
