Nuvarande verksamhetsområde
Som professor i veterinärmedicinsk epidemiologi syftar min forskning till att studera vilka faktorer som påverkar hälsa och välbefinnande hos lantbrukets djur, framför allt mjölkkor. Förhoppningsvis leder detta till ökade möjligheter att förebygga sjukdom! En stor del av min verksamhet utgörs av handledning av doktorander.

Aktuella ekoprojekt
Utvärdering av djurhälsa i besättningar med ekologisk mjölkproduktion. Dels vill vi undersöka hälsoläget jämfört med konventionella besättningar, och dels vill vi undersöka vad som händer med djurhälsan under övergången till 100 % ekologiskt odlat foder.

Tidigare verksamhet
Jag är husdjursagronom (1980), AgrD i husdjursgenetik (1987), docent i veterinärmedicinsk epidemiologi (1992) och jag har tidigare arbetat för Svensk Mjölk som epidemiolog (1987-1998) och för Interbull Centre (SLU), delvis som föreståndare (1998-2004). Mitt forsknings- och utvecklingsarbete har i huvudsak varit inriktat på djurhälsa hos mjölkkor.

Tycker om att göra på fritiden
Jag ägnar det mesta av fritiden åt min familj, men att resa, dansa tango, åka skidor och skridskor är exempel på andra intressen jag har.
